The Failure Caused The Rotors To Rust And The Braking System Not To Perform At Its Full Potential. 2009 honda accord. Brakes Squeal Very Loudly When Applied. Been To The Dealer 3 Times About This Issue. First Time They Cleaned The Brakes, Second Time They Turned The Front Rotor And Sanded The Brake Pads. Third Time (6/20/09) They Handed Me A Tsb About The Issue. The accord Had 2232 Miles When This First Started And Was Taken To The Dealership. Today It Has 3816 Miles. Very Poor For honda. Really Nice Car To Sound So Cheap. *tr

I Purchased A Brand New 2009 accord Ex-l V6 Coupe In September 08. I Only Have About 19k Miles And The Dealership Says The Rear Brakes Are At 0% While The Front Brakes Are At 90%. This Is A Front Wheel Drive Vehicle And There Is No Reason The Rear Brakes Should Be Completely Gone. *tr

honda accord Ex-l 2009. Purchased May 2009. Brakes Have Been Squealing Since Purchase Of Car. I Took It In And The service Person Said, “90% Of All 2008 And 2009 accords Are Having The Same Problem. American honda Is Aware Of The Problem But That There Is No Current Recall For It. As To When There Will Be A Recall, It May Be Next Year, If There Is One. Until Then, There Is Nothing We Can Do About It. And There Is No Point In Replacing The Brake Pads And Rotors Because It Will End Up With The Same Problem. It Won’t Go Away By Replacing Them.” If 90% Of The New honda accords Are Having This Problem, Then Certainly American honda Should Do Something About The Squealing Brakes.*tr

2009 honda accord Sedan V-6. Currently Has 2400 Miles. Brakes Have Been Squeaking Since New. I Took It To The honda Dealer And They Said That honda Is Aware Of The Issue But That It Is Due To The Composition Of The Brake Pads And They Do Not Currently Have A Fix For It. The Brakes Seem To Work Ok But The Squeaking Is Disconcerting, And I Believe It Is A Safety Issue As The Existing Squeaking Will Make It Difficult To Ascertain When The Brake Pads Actually Become Worn Down. *tr

July 23, 2009

The Day After I Purchased My 2009 honda accord Ex 4dr Sedan, The Brakes Have Squeaked. I Have Made Several Attempts To Get This Issue Resolved, However Every Time I Speak To Either honda Corporate Or The Local Dealership , I Am Told “the Mechanics Are Working On This Issue And honda Is Aware.” I Have Had My Car serviced 4 Times Since I Purchased The Vehicle For The Obnoxious Sound Coming From My Braking And Still There Is No Resolution. I Am Told Time And Time Again, There Is ” No Safety ” Issue, However, No One Seems To Know What The True Problem Is. So How Are The 100% Sure There Is ‘no Safety Issue?’ I Am In The Process Of Filing A Lemon Law Suit Against honda And I Feel Very Strongly About The Need For A Recall. *tr

I Bought A 2009 honda accord On May 5, 2009. I’ve Noticed The Breaks Squeak Terribly. This Should Not Be Happening With A Brand New Car. The honda Dealership Will Do Nothing As They Claim honda Sent Them An Email Advising Them They Are Working On The Problem And Should Have A Solution By July 1, 2009. It Is July 25th And Still Nothing. There Are Several Complaints About This Very Problem And honda Needs To Remedy This In A Timely Manner. *tr

I Purchased A 2009 honda accord Ex-l On April 11, 2009 From Hoffman honda In Avon Ct. Within The First 500 Miles, The Brakes Started To Squeak Loudly. I Tolerated It, Barely, Until The First Oil Change At 3,000 Miles At Which Time I Complained To The Dealer. The service Representative Said He Could Not Hear It Though It Was Apparent That He Temporarily Fixed The Problem By Cleaning The Brakes Pads And/or Rotors. It’s Been 300 Miles Since The First service And They Are Squealing Loudly Again. This Is Extremely Dangerous Because It Forces The Driver To Not Apply The Brakes Correctly To Try To Quiet The Deafening Noise. It Is Only A Matter Of Time Before Someone Gets Hurt. This Is A Known Problem And Should Be Corrected By honda. *tr

2009 honda accord. Squeaky Brakes Since I Drove If Off The Lot. Salesman Said It Was Because Car Was So New. Squeak Got Worse. Have Taken It Back 4 Time For service On This Matter, Deglazed, Sprayed, Trimmed Rotors Still Not Resolved. honda Is Not Forth Coming About This Character Flaw In This Vehicle. After Googling Issue Today I Found This Is A Defect With 2008 And 2009 honda accords. They Need To Be Made Responsible For Correction Without Futher Inconvience To Buyers. *tr

I Have A 2009 honda accord Exl W/navi 4 Cylinder. It Currently Has 6000 Miles And I Bought It In September 2008. I Have Taken It To The Dealer 3-4 Times About The Brakes Squealing. It Occurs Every Time I Apply The Brakes, No Matter The Speed Or Use. They First Told Me It Was Too New And They Had To Break In. Then That It Was Because They Were Cold Due To The Winter Weather And I Needed To Drive 55-60 Mpg And Slam On The Breaks To Warm Up. Then It Was Due To New Brake Pads Not Being Made Like They Used To Be When They Used Asbestos In Pads. Then It Was Because All The Rain Had Caused A Build Up And They Needed To Be Cleaned. Everytime They Told Me It Was Normal And Something I Would Have To Deal With. It Is Not Normal For A Brand New Car’s Brakes To Squeal Everytime They Are Applied. This Seems To Be A Common Complaint On This Website And honda Needs To Do Something About It. *tr

This Is A Very Common Problem Is Arising With honda accords 2008 Model, Rear Brake Pads. They Tend To Wore Out After 15,000 Miles. I Am A Owner Of 2008 honda accord V6, And At First I Didn’t Think This Would Happen To Me Since I Figured It’s Just Random Events But After Today Seeing That Right Side Rear Brakes Are Almost Gone And There Is Only Little Bit Of Pad Left On Right Side, I Started Researching And Found Out This Is A Very Common Problem With honda accord 2008 Models. I Contacted My Original Dealership And They Totally Acted Like This Is Not Common At All And Very Rare And A Car Should Have Its Pads Replaced Every 15,000-25,000 Miles. It Makes No Common Sense Since I’m Only At 17000 Miles And I Drive Very Safe And Not The Type To Hit The Brake Hard. Here’s A Link For More Information. I Purchased A 2009 honda accord V6 On February. When I Apply The Brakes My Car Makes A Loud Squeaking Noise. The Noise Is Getting Worse. I’ve Been To The Dealership Over 4 Times And Have Called In Regards To Them Fixing The Problem. They Told Me That It Was The Brake Pads. They Are Still In The Process Of Investigating The Problem. Why Is This Taking So Long? The honda Consumer Affairs Department Said That If I Fix The Brake I Would Have To Pay Out Of Pocket. honda Will Not Fix This Problem Unless Its Recalled. My Left Speaker As Well Has Shorted Out. I Went To The Car Audio Store And Had The Speaker Replaced With A New honda Speaker And Once Again It Shorted At A High Volume. The Gentleman At The Car Audio Store Informed Me That This Was A Manufacturing Problem On The Car. *tr

I Bought A 2009 honda accord Sedan And After Approximately 1000 Miles, The Brakes When Applied Started To Make A Screeching Sound. I Thought That Maybe The Brakes Would Have To Be Broken In But After A 2000 Miles, I Had The Same Noise And Was Getting Louder. I Made An Appointment To service The Car At The Dealership Where Purchased. The Fix Was Replacement Of The Pad Shims And Grease. Less Than One Hundred Miles I Took The Car In Again, And This Time I Told Them That Something Had To Be Replaced. The Brake Pads At Least. The Serivce Attendant Said That honda Could Not Do Anything. I Called honda Corporation And Basically Was Told The Same Thing. honda Could Not Do Anything Because There Were No Recalls. The Last Thing I Told honda Was That I Just Had To Live With The Problem And Simply Said Yes. I Would Hope That This Complaint Is Joined With Others To Force honda To Resolve This Problem. Thank You. *tr

2009 honda accord Leased In 2008 From Valley honda, 4173 Ogden Avenue, Aurora Il, 60504. The Vehicle Was Returned To The Dealership Due To Noise Coming From Brakes And Steering Wheel Pulling To The Left. Returned Vehicle Several More Times Complaining Of Same Issue. Valley honda Stated There Per Techline, honda Is Aware Of The Problem And Is Working On A Countermeasure. In My Opinion This Is A Safety Hazard. I Explained To honda, The Dealership And The Better Business Bureaus That This Is A Safety Hazard Because I Have To “pump” My Brakes In Order To Control The Vehicle During Stopping…all Disagreed. I Bought A 2009 honda accord From A Local Dealer Here In Nashville,tn. I Have About 20,000 Miles On My Car And I Started Hearing A Weird Screeching Noise And Went To The Dealer For A Check Up. The Dealer service Guys Told Me That My Rear Brake Pads Have Worn Out And Is Out Of Warranty. I Cross Checked With Other honda accord Buyers And They All Had A Similar Problems With Their Brake Pads. This Was Mentioned To The Dealer service Guys And Then They Accepted That They Had Few Thousand Complaints On The Same Issue From New Car Owners. They Are Refusing To Replace The Brake Pads As The Company Had Not Yet Sent Them Any Directive For Such. They Want To Charge Me $180.00 For Rear Brake Pads Replacement. The Dealer Name Is Crest honda In Nashville And The Car Is A 2009 honda accord Sedan. After Only 4000 Miles On My honda accord Coupe 2009 The Brakes Had Started To Squeak. Everytime You Hit The Brakes This Issue Occurs. I Have Not Done Anything As Of Yet Because It Is A Brand New Car And Based On Information Found On The Web It Seams Majority Of Individuals On Forums Have The Same Issue. This Is A Premature Wear On The Brakes Possibly Because Of Bad Pistons And Should Be Recalled Based On The Fact That If Not It Can End Up With A Liability Issue. *tr

The Brakes On My 2009 honda accord, Purchased At “courtesy Palm Harbor honda” Started Squealing Badly At 19,000 Miles. I Have Noticed For The Past Three Months That The Car Seemed To Actually Slow Down More Than Normal When I Take My Foot Off The Gas — As If The Brakes Were Not Fully Released. I’ve Also Noticed Reduced Fuel Efficiency. About A Week Ago, The Brakes Started Squealing Badly, As If The Pads Were Fully Worn. I Figured The Problem Couldn’t Be The Brake Pads At 19k Miles, So I Brought It In To The Dealer Today. Turns Out The Rear Brake Pads Are Completely Worn Down And It Is The service Technician’s Opinion That The Cause Is My Style Of Driving — Not A Defective honda Problem. After Telling Him That I Drive With Only One Foot (i Don’t Hold My Left Foot On The Brake Pedal While Driving), He Stated That accords Are Built With Autobahn Quality, High-performance Brake Parts That Are Really Soft For Enhanced Braking Ability. I Told Him That I Hardly Feel That This Base-model accord Would Be Considered A “high Performance” Vehicle. Nevertheless, The “soft / High-quality Pads” And My Driving Style Was His Reason (according To Him) For The Premature Wearing Of The Brakes. I’ve Owned 15+ Cars In My Life Time And Have Never Had Brake Pads Wear Down In Less Than 40,000 Miles – Especially Rear Brakes! I Told The Tech That After Doing Extensive Research, I Found Out That This Is A Very Well-known Problem With accords. He Said His Hands Were Tied And He Couldn’t Offer Me Any Relief Without honda Corp’s. Blessing. The service Tech Told Me The Pads Were Nice And Evenly Warn. I Changed The Brake Pads Myself And Found The Opposite To Be True – The Inner Pad Was Way More Worn Out Than The Outer – Indication A Brake System Defect. *tr

I Took My Brand New 2009 honda accord Lx Into The Dealer For Routine service At 12,700 Miles And Was Informed That My Rear Brake Pads Are Failing And Will Need To Be Replaced Within 18,000 Miles. The Dealer Told Me That This Is A Known Problem With The accord‘s And They Have Been Waiting For Over A Year For honda Motor Corp. To Fix The Problem. After Reading All The Thousands Of Consumer Complaints About These Rear Brake Pad Premature Failures It Is Obvious That Many 2008 To 2010 honda accord‘s On The Road Are Operating In A Potentially Dangerous Condition. I Implore The Nhtsa To Force honda Motor Corp. To Recall And Repair All 2008 To 2010 accord‘s Which Is The Responsible And Reasonable Course Of Action Before People Are Seriously Injured Or Die. *tr
